Bringing It Back is a companion app, operated by Thomas Richard Eugene Young, trading as Bringing It Back ("we", "us", "our"), that helps married and committed couples grow together through shared adventures, conversations, and memories. Thomas Richard Eugene Young, trading as Bringing It Back is the data controller for the personal information described here. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, the legal basis, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the app for you and your partner:
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider).
- Couple content: profile details, answers to onboarding questions, calendar entries, notes, memory-jar entries, adventure plans, and photos you upload.
- SYNC conversations: messages you exchange with our AI companion so we can maintain your chat history.
- Feedback & support messages: ideas, bug reports, or attachments you submit.
- Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, browser, OS, timestamps, and errors used to diagnose problems and improve reliability.
- Push tokens: if you opt in to notifications, the device token required to deliver them.
Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle — we never see or store your full card number. We do not collect precise location, contacts, or biometric data.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, personalize, and improve the app for you and your partner (contract performance).
- Generate personalized adventures, nudges, and conversation starters through SYNC (contract performance).
- Deliver notifications you have opted in to receive (consent).
- Respond to feedback, support requests, and bug reports (legitimate interests).
- Maintain security and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations (legal obligation).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private couple content to train third-party AI models.
3. Who we share data with
We rely on a small number of trusted recipients. They only receive the data required to perform their function:
- Paddle (Merchant of Record): Paddle.com sells our membership and handles subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Cloud hosting & database: secure infrastructure that stores account and content data at rest, encrypted.
- Authentication: manages sign-in, password resets, and session security.
- AI provider: processes prompts you send to SYNC in order to generate a response. Messages are transmitted over encrypted connections.
- Push delivery: device push services (Apple, Google, or the web push protocol) to deliver notifications.
- Analytics & error logging: minimal, aggregate diagnostics used to detect crashes and improve stability.
- Professional advisers: legal and accounting advisers where needed.
- Authorities: where required by law.
4. Content you share with your partner
Bringing It Back is designed for two paired users. Content you add — memories, notes, calendar events, photos, adventures — is visible to your paired partner inside the app. Please only add content you are comfortable sharing with them.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal content within 30 days, except for records we are required to retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Backup copies are purged on our standard rotation.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, row-level security in our database so each couple can only read their own data, and least-privilege access controls for administrators. No online service is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access & correction: view and update most information directly in the app.
- Deletion: request full account deletion by emailing us at the address below.
- Notifications: turn push notifications on or off at any time in your device or app settings.
- Marketing: we do not send marketing emails; transactional emails (password resets, security alerts) cannot be disabled while your account is active.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (including access, portability, correction, deletion, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority), you may exercise those rights by contacting us.
8. Children's privacy
Bringing It Back is intended for adults (18+) in committed relationships. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you inside the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
